Ampleforth is one of Europe's foremost Catholic boarding schools, committed to all round excellence and academic ambition. This post will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to join us in working with students to cultivate learning as an attitude, a value for life.
We require, for April 2020, a Catholic Assistant Head of Christian Theology (RS) Department who can assist in providing a strong leadership that results in a department that provides first class teaching and learning opportunities for students and staff ensuring all students achieve their potential.
We believe that religious education is the foundation of the entire educational process at Ampleforth. We offer a comprehensive and systematic study of Theology which is academically rigorous and challenging. Its primary purpose is academic, not catechetical or evangelical, but the subject forms an important part of the catechetical community.
Therefore, we are recruiting for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Assistant Head of Christian Theology (RS), to start in April 2020. The appointed person will contribute to the teaching from KS3 up to A Level. This post is not suitable for a newly qualified teacher.
A willingness to play a full part in the boarding and extra-curricular life of the school is also essential.
The closing date for applications is Friday 6 December 2019, at 12 pm.
It is anticipated that interviews will be held shortly after the closing date.
The Ampleforth Abbey Trust, St Laurence Education Trust and its Schools are committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people. They expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and will ensure that all recruitment and selection practices and procedures reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) along with other relevant employment checks.
