Murray Park School is seeking to appoint a full time and enthusiastic Assistant Head of English to join our excellent department. The successful candidate would be joining a strong, hard-working team which is committed to achieving excellence and in which a creative approach to teaching and learning in English is strongly encouraged. We are ambitious for our students and we are seeking to appoint staff who can bring the right blend of flexibility, commitment, energy and vision. We welcome applications from teachers with ideas, enthusiasm and strong teaching and leadership ability, who can work within the diverse demands of the department whilst maintaining its recognised strengths and attributes.

Murray Park Community School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-16 foundation school. The secondary school is located on the western edge of the city of Derby and has around 1100 students on roll, with a standard admission of 280 students. The school operates a 25 period week on a two week timetable basis.

Murray Park School is a rewarding and professionally stimulating place to work. Over the last 3 years we have undergone a journey of rapid improvement; moving from a Requires Improvement Ofsted grading to Good in September 2022, along with a Progress 8 improvement of 0.64 to 0 from the 2019 figure, as well as now being over-subscribed. Never complacent, we are now on our next stage of development and seek high-quality staff to enable this.
