Matthew Moss High School is looking for an outstanding Assistant Head of Family to join our growing school community and make a real difference to the children who attend our school. 

Matthew Moss High School has a vertical pastoral system. When learners join school, they join one of four families: Beech, Lime, Maple, Oak. Each family is led by experienced Heads of Family. You will work closely with the Head of Family to monitor and evaluate student progress, via tutors and teaching staff, in order to promote pupil achievement and make a measurable contribution to the cohort/whole school targets.  

Matthew Moss High School is an oversubscribed school with a “Good” Ofsted judgement and an established reputation for providing excellent professional development within a culture of learning and innovation.

Matthew Moss High School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational, community secondary school for children aged 11-16. It is situated in Rochdale, Lancashire, and there are 780 pupils on its roll.

The school boasts excellent facilities, including a 4D Learning Environment (the largest in the UK), a 3G astroturf pitch and a state-of-the-art Bouldering Room. All new pupils are allocated a tutor group, where they will be among peers from different year groups. The school believes this mix of ages helps children to integrate and to build confidence.
