LETOVO School is a non-profit co-educational independent boarding school for grade 7-11. Founded in 2018, Letovo offers a world-class bilingual education to exceptionally gifted and motivated students from across Russia. Having adopted a need-blind admission policy, Letovo seeks to establish an all-inclusive community, educating a new generation of socially conscious, internationally minded Russian and world citizens. 

Letovo boarding School was rated №1 by Global IB Schools 2022 with the average graduate's score being 43. 


About the role

Because of expansion and joining more boarders from 2023 academic year we look for a committed Assistant Head of House well versed in traditional boarding standards. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience working in a similar role. Letovo School is proud of its commitment to ongoing professional development of boarding staff to meet and exceed the role requirements.


Key tasks

 Provide a safe, comfortable environment within the boarding house to ensure health and safety of students always

• Show non-intrusive interest in all aspects of student’s school life, passing on any discipline issues to the Senior Boarding Team

• Be available at all times for students to communicate, ensuring any disclosures are immediately passed onto the Senior Vice Principal of Boarding/Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in line with the School Safeguarding policy

• Ensure health and safety is a priority in the boarding house

• To produce full pastoral reports twice a year

• Signs of student behavior, health or welfare issues are reported immediately to the Senior Boarding Team with any serious issues immediately to the Head of Boarding/ DSL

• Communicate with parents in consultation with the Senior Boarding Team, if necessary

• Complete the daily handover, student fire list and numbers when on shift

Candidate requirements

• Higher education with relevant experience in a similar role

• Sound knowledge of national and international boarding standards

• Up-to-date child protection and safeguarding knowledge

• Experience in accompanying students on excursions and overseas trips desirable.

 

Specialty

BSA/First Aid/Coaching/Previous mentoring or counselling experience desirable.


Personal

• High levels of integrity, commitment, flexibility, organization and responsibility with a genuine love of children and young people

• The role entails a high level of working within and as part of a shift system

Letovo is a School in which each child will grow, achieve high academic, creative and sports results, communicate, socialize and pursue a growth mindset in life in general, while maintaining strong Russian educational and cultural traditions. Letovo is a non-profit private school for talented children who are eager to learn and challenge themselves academically and personally. The campus for senior school students is located southwest of Moscow in the newly developed Novaya Moskva district (open countryside), and Letovo Junior is located in the city center.

Letovo is a highly selective School serving up to 1000 bright students from all over Russia in grades seven through eleven (the last five grades in the Russian education system) in a senior campus and up to 250 pre-school and primary aged children in Junior school.

The School Site

The School is located in a new suburban district of Moscow. Letovo campus perfectly fits into the natural landscape characteristic of central Russia. Near the school there is a pond, a river and a beautiful pine forest which is used for both academic, sports and leisure activities.

The infrastructure of Letovo school consists of 19 thousand square meters of premises, 10 houses for students, 3 houses for teachers, 40 classrooms, 1,000 seats in the theater, 5 library rooms, 9 scientific laboratories, 4 sports halls and 1 stadium. All premises are designed specifically for children to be accessible and proportionate to their needs providing a quiet and safe place for every child.

Letovo school is a winner of the 2016 Moscow Architecture Committee Award in the nomination for The Best Architectural and Urban Planning Solution for Education and Medicine.
