This is an opportunity for an experienced Mathematics teacher to play a key role in the professional leadership and management of a thriving, supportive and lively department.
As Assistant Head of Mathematics, you will support the Head of Mathematics in ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively, and the curriculum is managed and developed in accordance with school policy. Your teaching responsibilities will include teaching the subject to pupils from Year 7 to the Upper Sixth Form, including the IGCSE, FSMQ and A-Level courses.
You will also provide support with annual departmental plans, appraisals, the resourcing of the department and promote an ethos of teamwork and establish a culture of sharing good practice.
You will need the ability to lead and manage people to work towards a common goal, as well as good decision-making skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
As a teacher, you will have excellent subject knowledge and experience of teaching at KS3-5, GCSE and A-Level. Being up to date with professional developments in Mathematics and other aspects of education is equally important.
Experience of teaching Further Mathematics and preparing pupils for scholarship and university entrance examinations is desirable but not essential.
