Welcome to Our School

Welcome to SET Felix Primary. I am proud to be taking on the role as the Headteacher of our brand new primary school.

At that heart of our new school is our ethos of; ‘Inspiring ambition and celebrating every step as one’.

For many years now we have been working together across two separate sites. As we start this new school year as a brand new school, all on one site, we are excited to finally be working as one team, on one site and all our children and families together. We also enjoy celebrating every step and success of our children with our community as one.

As a parent myself I understand how important the school community is, the positive relationships that staff build with the children and the impact school has on all children when they feel happy and safe.

This is a school in which our community and the children in our care are at the heart of everything we do. I am very proud of our school and the work that all our children and staff do here. As the two schools have become one I know the children now receive the best of both settings. We believe in supporting the whole child as an individual and our school has something for everyone throughout their journey from Reception to Year 6.

In opening our new school, we have worked hard to ensure that our curriculum is ambitious and has the breadth in teaching to empower our children to know more, do more and remember more. Our new facilities include a large open plan Reception class with dedicated outside learning space. All lower floor classrooms having outside learning space and shared library areas. All our pupils have access to specialist teaching in PE with our dedicated sports coach. Art is taught by our Creative Art teacher; Music lessons with the school Music teacher and language learning by our Modern Foreign Languages teacher.

We are fortunate to have unique features such as enrichment sessions on site which are set for all children to enjoy once a week. Through enrichment your children will develop life skills not taught within class, exploring a broad range of activities such as cooking, game playing, languages, team building skills and performing. Your child will also have the opportunity to collaborate with younger and older peers as they work in mixed age groups. Our children also love our WOW days which cover trips out for topic learning, careers days and visitors into school.

I know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working as one, that’s why we also offer wrap-around care including breakfast and after school activities to be able to support our families.

I look forward to welcoming you and your child to SET Felix Primary.

Ms L Thompson
Head of School
