Assistant Head of School

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person looking to advance their career into school leadership. Orchard Learning Trust is an expanding Multi-Academy Trust, looking to grow its team of senior leaders, and needs an additional outstanding and inspirational leader to join them.

Based at Godmanchester Bridge Academy, you will develop your leadership under the guidance of our experienced Head of School and supported by our Chief Executive Officer, obtaining skills in leadership which will enable you to progress further within the Trust.

There is an exciting vision for education across the Orchard Learning Trust schools and, by joining our senior leadership team, you will have the opportunity to develop as a leader across more than one school. Orchard Learning Trust’s vision involves developing specialist teachers dedicated to specific curriculum areas, but not solely teaching one subject.

Initially the post will be based at the Godmanchester Bridge Academy and will include a proportion of time class based.

• Is well-organised, highly motivated and full of ideas;
• Believes in maximising every opportunity to ensure pupils achieve high standards;
• Has the ability and desire to inspire and support people to achieve;
• Has a desire to focus on, and specialise in, the Teaching and Learning aspects of school leadership.

About the Employer:

Orchard Learning Trust was formed in 2012, as Godmanchester Community Education Trust, when Godmanchester Community Primary School converted to academy status. Godmanchester Bridge Academy was added to the Trust in 2016 and moved into its newly built permanent location in 2017. Gorefield Primary School was welcomed into the Multi Academy Trust in March 2018.

The Trust is now building capacity within its staff team to enable other primary schools to benefit from joining the Trust. The Trust aims to create a model in which primary schools can share and work closely together to create excellence in primary education. Developing future school leaders within the organisation is seen as key to the success of this ambition.
