Job overview

We are looking for someone with drive and ambition to join our Science team at Hollingworth Academy from January 2020. We require an outstanding and inspirational practitioner who will ensure that our pupils continue to make excellent progress. The GCSE Science results in 2019 were outstanding with our pupils achieving 77% 4+ grades in Combined Science and in excess of 95% 4+ grades in each of the Separate Sciences, with 50% of those pupils achieving 7+ grades.

Hollingworth Academy is an established ‘Outstanding’ academy, with the aspiration and drive to become ‘World Class.’ In 2014 our pupils achieved excellent examination results which resulted in the Academy receiving an Education Outcomes Award from the SSAT and a Pupil Premium Award from the DFE. Most recently we have been accredited as a Centre of Excellence for inclusion by IQM and were awarded ‘School of the Year’ by Skills for Business. Visitors always comment on our calm and purposeful learning environment.

We heavily invest in our staff with a wide range of professional learning opportunities, which include fully funded Masters Degrees, Teaching Leaders, PIXL and Prince’s Trust training and an extensive range of CPD opportunities throughout the year. In addition, we actively look to develop leadership skills and promotion potential through TLR opportunities. This role is excellent preparation for the post holder to secure promotion in the future. 

Start date : January 2020

Salary : Main Pay Scale – Upper Pay Scale (Dependent on Experience) 

Plus TLR 2.2 - £4,653
