Job overview

The Governors wish to appoint a first rate, enthusiastic Assistant Head of Subject for Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) with the skill to teach across the full age and ability range.  If you are highly motivated, have a passion for Languages and have the ability to inspire our pupils then we would love to hear from you. 

The MFL department at Broughton Hall is innovative and forward thinking. At GCSE and A Level students are taught the Edexcel specifications and we have consistently achieved very good results in all areas. At KS3 we follow the Viva scheme of work but are currently adapting and enhancing the curriculum to incorporate national developments in teaching and learning. Currently all students study Spanish at KS3 with more than half of the cohort continuing to study Spanish at KS4. We co-teach Spanish at A Level with Cardinal Heenan and numbers are good. We are looking at ways to reintroduce French into the curriculum and continue to offer this at KS4.

Broughton Hall Catholic High School is a Voluntary Aided School catering for girls aged 11-18 years. Boys are admitted to the Sixth Form at 16+. There is shared provision and a strong collaboration between Broughton Hall and Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School.
