ACS International Schools seeks an inspiring and strategic Assistant Head (Operations) to join the senior leadership team at ACS Hillingdon International School.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the school's strategic direction, operational efficiency, and continued development. Responsibilities include leading operational excellence, contributing to school-wide policies, and supporting the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning.

Key areas of leadership include:

  • Assist in the day- to- day running of the school.
  • Oversee effective use of school systems, ensuring accessibility and compliance for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure the achievement of the school’s ethos, aims and objectives.
  • Work with the divisional leadership and Head of Sports & Activities: leading on the creating and maintaining of an effective timetable / schedule for teaching and learning.
  • Ensure all handbooks are up to date, compliant and shared with relevant stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • A good undergraduate degree and a teaching qualification are essential.
  • Outstanding teaching practice
  • Demonstrable experience as an Upper School Teacher
  • Successful management experience as Head of Function or member of the SLT is desirable.
  • Experience of developing and sustaining positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to build consensus support and capacity.
  • Proven track record of managing and implementing change in relation to operational requirements, standards, and practices.
  • Experience of implementing a school’s development plan and implementing change in relation to teaching practices and standards.
  • Take initiative and implement positive change in line with ACS’ values and strategy.
  • Integrate technology in meaningful ways and use technology tools effectively.
  • Solve problems creatively, balancing competing priorities.
  • Organise and structure data, gathering inputs from teachers and staff to inform plans that will optimise school efficiency.
  • Conduct data analysis, monitor data quality, and exercise effective data governance.
  • Develop and implement change programmes for logistical challenges and seek optimisation of human, financial and facilities resources.
  • Understand and manage organisational structure, systems, and resources.
  • Design and communicate comprehensive and effective plans.
  • Communicate professionally, accurately, openly, and respectful.

Admissions Officers are knowledgeable in both academic and relocation issues.
