Assistant Head - Pastoral

As Assistant Head – Pastoral, you will play a key role, building on our growing reputation for pioneering and highly imaginative pastoral care and ensuring we continue to create a secure, inclusive community for our pupils.

You will contribute to whole school policy and strategy with the Senior Leadership Team and manage and lead Nurses, Counsellors, the Head of PSHE, the Mindfulness Lead and the Heads of Houses to empower them to ensure outstanding pastoral provision. Through exemplary teaching, you will ensure good practice is shared throughout the school and that relevant school policy and strategy is updated and embedded in year groups and PHSE. 

An excellent and up to date understanding of pastoral issues and developments is essential, along with experience as a subject leader or Head of Department.

Pastoral care at Wimbledon High School:

Our pastoral programme is called GROW, a holistic approach that encourages girls to develop self-belief, resilience and mutual respect.
