Job overview

The British School of Barcelona, BSB City Luca

The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is a great school in a wonderful location. We are an HMC school and were judged by a recent BSO (British Schools Overseas) Inspection to be outstanding in every area, including quality of education, safeguarding, pupil welfare and academic outcomes.

Over 2000 pupils from more than 74 nationalities attend the school and over 315 staff work at BSB. We are based in three locations, two just outside the city of Barcelona – in Castelldefels, where we have a Primary, Secondary and Pre-University campus, and in the cosmopolitan town of Sitges, where we have another Primary campus. BSB City is in the heart of the city of Barcelona itself with a Foundation campus (built September 2021), and a brand-new main campus which opened in September 2023.

BSB City Secondary has a curriculum based on the English National Curriculum. There is a wide range of GCSEs offered followed by the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Years 12 and 13, all alongside a significant enrichment programme

Barcelona is a wonderful place to live, combining an amazing city with beach and mountains nearby. The quality of life is excellent with a mild climate and year-round sunshine.

About The British School of Barcelona - BSB

The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is an esteemed institution situated in a prime location. As an HMC school, we were recently evaluated by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) Inspection and received an outstanding rating in every category.

BSB is a large and highly regarded school catering to children aged 3 to 18. Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, offering a wide range of GCSEs, A levels, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, complemented by a robust enrichment programme.

With over 2,000 pupils from more than 74 nationalities and a staff of over 315, BSB operates across three locations: Castelldefels, the city centre of Barcelona, and the cosmopolitan town of Sitges.

The growth of the school has been accompanied by significant investment over recent years, including the building of a state-of–the art Pre-University Centre (Nexus), a full-sized 4G rugby and football pitch, dedicated STEM facilities and the new BSB City campuses.

BSB Sites

Barcelona is one of the most vibrant and culturally rich cities globally.

BSB City is our newest British international campus for children aged 3-18, located in the heart of Barcelona. It brings our international, future-focused BSB education to students from Early Years to Pre-University.

BSB City comprises two buildings that together cover all educational stages: the Foundation Campus and the Luca Campus.

The Foundation Campus, an inspirational school located in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, is now open for our youngest students. The spectacular BSB City Luca Campus opened in September 2023, extending our provision in Barcelona for students up to Pre-University.

Both BSB Castelldefels (Primary and Secondary) and BSB Sitges (Primary) campuses are minutes away from beautiful beaches and are excellently connected by public transport.

The BSB Castelldefels campus offers purpose-built, modern facilities for students in Early Years, Primary, and Secondary. This optimal setting supports and enhances effective teaching and learning, leading to consistently high standards of achievement.

BSB Nexus is a purpose-built campus for students aged 16 to 18. Located in Castelldefels, close to the BSB Castelldefels campus, it provides a real-world Pre-University experience with distinct study and social spaces that support independent study and encourage the development of 21st-century skills as students prepare for university and their future careers.

BSB Sitges offers a unique learning environment for Early Years (from 2-year-olds) and Primary children. The thoughtfully designed facilities provide quality learning experiences and a safe, supportive school environment where children can thrive.
