TreeHouse School is an Ofsted “outstanding” non-maintained special school and sixth form for pupils aged 4 – 19. We've been providing specialist education for children with autism since 1997 to enable them to learn, thrive and achieve. We have more than 140 dedicated members of staff including qualified teachers, behaviour professionals, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists all working together to support our children and young people to learn and flourish.
To ensure our continuous improvement we are recruiting for an Assistant Head Quality of Education to join our School Senior Leadership Team, ensuring the best possible educational outcomes for children and young people through creating and maintaining an efficient and effective learning environment, with an ambitious curriculum and assessment framework that measures learning.
You will be an inspirational senior leader, with a proven track record of providing effective senior leadership and management to a transdisciplinary team, you will be passionate about the education of our pupils, possessing extensive experience of curriculum coordination, development, frameworks and qualifications with outstanding practice in curriculum planning, assessments and evaluation of pupil progress.
You will have responsibility for:
Working with the senior leadership team to embed the Quality of Life curriculum in a transdisciplinary way
Providing clear and effective leadership of Teaching and Learning underpinned by our Ambitious Approach
Monitoring, evaluating and reviewing teaching and learning
Ensuring all colleagues hold consistently high expectations for all pupils and have effectively planned targeted personalized support to ensure pupils achieve their target
Supporting the transdisciplinary team with a teaching commitment (0.3 FTE)
Accurate reporting and recording of pupil progress and achievement to parents, Local Authorities and other stakeholders.

Our Curriculum:
Our curriculum is tailored to each pupil’s unique qualities, specific needs, and individual starting points. In this way, we can set accurate targets for progress.
In our individualised learning programmes, we assess each pupil extensively and consider their strengths and what they find more challenging. Our curriculum is creative and flexible, using our natural environment to extend pupils’ learning. You are as likely to see maths being practised in the shop, the community or the garden as you are in the classroom. Where appropriate, our curriculum is linked to and, where necessary, differentiated from the National Curriculum’s requirements.
