Denstone College is looking to appoint an Assistant Head (Staff Development, Teaching and Learning) to continue the successful work of the current post holder from September 2021.

The post holder will oversee many aspects of teaching and learning across the College as well as leading Staff Development and training opportunities and systems in support of the Head's strategic vision for the College as a whole.  The post holder will work closely with an experienced senior management team and will attend Governors' Education Committee meetings.

The successful candidate will be an experienced middle or senior leader with a proven track record of success, an outstanding classroom practitioner, have experience or empathy with the Independent School model of all-round education and a willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities.  This post would suit someone with the ambition to move to headship in due course.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a timetable of up to 18 periods per week in an appropriate subject (where each period is of 40 minutes duration) alongside their other duties.

Most full time teachers at Denstone also act as tutors within the College's thriving House system and are expected to contribute fully to the rich and diverse programme of activities and Sport enjoyed by pupils across all year groups.
