Barnhill Community High School is a high-performing, Leading Edge school in West London.  Our 2018 academic outcomes place us well within the top 5% of the country.  Due to the promotion of the previous post holder to Deputy Head Teacher, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated colleague to join our Senior Leadership Team.

Barnhill’s Senior Leadership Team is comprised of a Head of School, three deputy head teachers and three assistant head teachers (one of which is this vacancy).  Other members of staff serve on the associate leadership team, such as our Lead Practitioners for English and Literacy and for science.  The team has a rich diversity of skills and experience, each with designated roles for school improvement.

The school operates a sophisticated curriculum that is tailored to individual students’ needs.  Student outcomes are very high in core and EBacc areas, with Progress 8 scores of +0.73 in English, +0.89 in maths and +0.91 in EBacc and +0.23 in Other subjects.  Our mathematics and science outcomes are in the top 100 schools in England.  Pastoral care is of a high standard with very high standards of school discipline and student engagement.  Parental engagement is high with 85% of parents visit the school for parents’ evenings and the like.

This post would suit a strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and dedication to improving the lives of all students.  We welcome applications from experienced senior leaders and those new to leadership teams.  We have an excellent track record of developing and nurturing talent - with many younger members of staff filling key positions.

Barnhill Community High School is part of the Middlesex Learning Partnership, an ambitious cross-phase Multi-Academy Trust. We are ambitious for the students of Hillingdon, ambitious for their futures, ambitious for their achievements and ambitious for their personal development. Students are at the heart of everything we do, and as such we are driven to achieve ever higher standards.

In line with the ethos of the best schools in the country, we are always trying harder, pushing the boundaries of learning and encouraging both students and staff to strive to reach their full potential. We believe in the transformative power of education to Build Brighter Futures and aim to foster within our communities a lifelong thirst for learning and improvement, so vital in a rapidly changing world. Our mission is to ensure that students recognise the importance of learning and are equipped to flourish in the world of the future and that staff are proud of the priceless contributions they make to student’s lives.

We are now looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Assistant Head Teacher to lead the school into the next stage of its journey and raise achievement within the new government framework.

We believe in the power of learning to transform the lives of children and young people and to prepare them well for their futures.  We believe that all have great talents and potential, and that we need to provide an outstanding experience so that this can be realised.  We are also committed to the broader community.  Our Trust sits at the heart of the local area, and has a vital role to play as a centre for education, well-being and community cohesion.

Our staff benefit from a well-being scheme, childcare vouchers, cycle scheme and on-site gym facilities.
