Job overview

Westcourt Primary School is looking to recruit an innovative, strategic, and inspirational Assistant Head Teacher -Inclusion to join our staff team in October 2022 or January 2023. Applicants will develop an effective practice for pupils so that specific needs are addressed, and pupils experience success and achieve academic and personal goals. You will work closely with our staff team to coordinate, plan, and assess the SEND provision in our school.

 

We are looking for:

  • An outstanding qualified teacher with an excellent record of raising standards for all.
  • Passionate about developing the whole child.
  • An inspirational role model and leader.
  • Able to work in partnership with the SLT and Governors, leading on SEND.
  • Able to lead and manage staff in developing and implementing effective provisions for SEND pupils.
  • Able to manage the interventions considered necessary for these pupils.
  • Experienced in working with outside agencies.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in working within the field of safeguarding.
  • Aware of how to support pupils with emotional and/or behaviour needs to access a mainstream curriculum.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in record preparation and keeping in relation to SEND pupils.
  • Has achieved or willing to achieve the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinator qualification.

Westcourt is situated east of Gravesend, offering quick links to the A2/M2. The site is extensive, giving staff good car parking facilities, a dedicated PPA room, and a staff room. The building is well-maintained, offering a good working environment. The school values staff well-being and support is put in place for new staff members to integrate into the school community quickly. The school is well-resourced, and there are opportunities for continued professional development.

We work in collaboration with our Trust, The Primary First Trust, which currently consists of ten primary schools in Medway, Kent and Bexley. This gives us a vast support network and allows our staff to grow professionally and our children to achieve excellence.
