Assistant Head Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head Teacher to join the school as it moves into a new purpose built facility for learners with severe learning disabilities aged 2 to 19 years.

Sandside Lodge School is a vibrant establishment in the South Lakes area. It offers its learners a highly personalised curriculum that supports communication and independence. The school was recently awarded the Move Quality Mark and is working towards the NAS accreditation in June.

Sandside Lodge School is the first in Cumbria to develop the Thrive Approach with a major focus on trauma informed practice and supporting students with Attachment Disorder. The new school build will also offer support for mainstream students with a diagnosis of Autism.

We are looking for a proven outstanding leader/manager with some experience of teaching students with SEND. The successful applicant must be able to coordinate and motivate teams and also be able to coach and mentor staff across the school.  We are looking for an Assistant Head Teacher who is approachable and adaptable and has excellent organisational communication skills. We commit to developing the full potential of all of our staff through highly effective CPD opportunities and relevant training.
