We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and work closely with the Executive Headteacher and Head of School in delivering outstanding teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader with a passion for education and a commitment to driving excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Shaping the Future

  • Lead by example, promoting the school’s vision, values, and priorities.

  • Contribute to the formulation and evaluation of the School Development Plan.

  • Ensure the effective implementation of agreed policies, strategies, and priorities.

Leading Teaching and Learning

  • Lead curriculum development, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of all pupils.

  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning, and take corrective actions where necessary.

  • Mentor and support staff to raise standards of teaching and learning across the school.

  • Teach groups and interventions as required.

Cultural Capital, Behaviour, and Welfare

  • Lead the school’s Curriculum and oversee initiatives such as Educational Visits.

  • Champion pupil wellbeing and ensure a positive school culture.

  • Foster pupil voice and leadership, including roles like playground leaders and librarians.

  • Support safeguarding as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).

Developing Self, Working with Others, and Securing Accountability

  • Collaborate with the Executive Headteacher on performance management and staff development.

  • Support middle leaders to ensure the best learning opportunities for all pupils.

  • Lead staff recruitment, induction, and ongoing professional development.

Managing the Organisation

  • Share responsibility for day-to-day school management.

  • Lead meetings in support of school aims and priorities.

  • Deputise as Head of School in their absence.

Strengthening the Community

  • Build strong relationships with the local community, agencies, and the local authority.

  • Promote parental engagement and support pupil achievement.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration across the school.

  • A proven track record in teaching and leadership.

  • Expertise in curriculum development and school improvement.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
