The Assistant Headship of The Mall School falls vacant on 1st September 2018 when our current Assistant Head, Mrs Fenella Scott, retires after fifteen excellent years of service.

The Assistant Head is accountable to the Headmaster for either Teaching and Learning or Pastoral Care. The Assistant Head is a member of the Senior Leadership Team which includes the Headmaster, Deputy Head, Bursar, second Assistant Head and Head of Juniors (Reception to Year 3). The Assistant Head will also be Head of English. 

Applicants need to indicate whether, based on their previous experience, their main strengths are Academic or Pastoral Care.  

The successful candidate is likely to have a record of proven success in independent preparatory schools and will be an experienced teacher and manager with varied experience.  Applications are sought from people with a demonstrable record of outstanding achievement in both teaching and leadership. 

The posts offer considerable scope for lively and innovative leadership, taking the best from recent educational developments and interpreting them within the established traditions of The Mall.
