Following the rapid growth of the school, The Kemnal Academies Trust, Governors and Headteacher are seeking an exceptional leader with the energy and vision to support the school in its continued improvement journey.

TKAT and the Headteacher are looking for an outstanding teacher with demonstrated leadership skills and experience in leading teams, evaluating performance, raising achievement, a strong vision for improving social mobility and being part of our caring community. The Assistant Headteacher must be committed to our comprehensive values and ideals, striving for excellence in both our taught curriculum and extra-curricular life of Bridgemary School.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with an ability to develop effective relationships with all members of our community are important elements of the role. As a member of our leadership team, the Assistant Headteacher will play a key role in the leadership and management of the whole school.

Alongside the current Senior Leaders, this role will specifically lead on attendance and the education of students educated other than mainstream. The latter will include students in alternative provision, strategic leadership of on site alternative provisions, students transitioning to or from Elective Home Education amongst other alternative provisions. Experiences of leadership within these areas is desirable.

The Assistant Headteacher will contribute to the strategic development of all aspects of school life. The candidate will join an excellent existing leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an existing Assistant Headteacher or a middle leader with appropriate experiences

Bridgemary School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Gosport, Hampshire. There are approximately 696 pupils at the school between the ages of 11-16. 

Formerly Bridgemary Community Sports College, Bridgemary School converted to academy status in 2012. It is a member of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT), along with over 45 other primary and secondary academies in the South of England.
