Governors wish to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to support and assist the Head of School and Deputy Headteachers in leading and developing specific aspects of school improvement work and lead the English department.

To support and assist the Head of School  and Deputy Headteachers through providing dynamic and professional leadership and management by sharing and modelling the school’s vision and values in everyday work and practice; developing and motivating staff, setting high expectations, embedding learning and teaching strategies and raising achievement, contributing to our rigorous and ongoing self-evaluation and taking responsibility for leading specific areas/initiatives to secure further school wide improvements

This is an exciting career opportunity for an exceptional candidate able to impact positively on attainment outcomes and contribute to the success of the English Department at Haydock High School.

Applications are sought from candidates who are well qualified and able to teach English to GCSE level and potential to teach A Level as part of the federation at Cowley International College.  All staff at Haydock High School must be able to demonstrate their ability to have a significant impact on the progress of their students.

Haydock High School is a non-denominational secondary school in St Helens, Merseyside. At its most recent inspection, there were 700 students aged 11-16 on the school roll. 

Haydock High School was founded in 1932 and has been fully co-educational since 1947. The village of Haydock has a population of 11,500 and is located midway between Liverpool and Manchester. Facilities at the school are also used by Haydock Community Leisure Centre. The secondary school's library is open from 8am for homework club and after school until 4pm.
