The Governing Body of Penn Hall School seek to appoint a talented, dedicated and inspirational Assistant Headteacher.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a key role in a very special school for children and young people aged 3 -19 years with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.  The Assistant Headteacher will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to support  the Headteacher in shaping the future of the school to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will work to promote a culture of child centred learning, where young people experience a positive and enriching school life which prepares them for adulthood.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy Headteacher and will be responsible for leading on Assessment and Progress across the school.

Penn Hall School needs an Assistant Headteacher who will: 

  • Offer commitment and creativity so that each child and young person will achieve their personal best.
  • Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to continue to develop and deliver our strategic vision to ensure progress and success for all children and young people.
  • Be analytical, focused and highly motivated, responsible for monitoring, assessing and implementing strategies to ensure a consistently high standard of assessment and reporting. You will ensure that assessment systems are robust, reliable and valid so that they can be used to inform future teaching and track student progress.
  • Be compassionate and responsive to the needs of our learners and their families.
  • Develop, motivate and support a professional, experienced and caring staff team.
  • Foster partnership working with other schools and external agencies.
  • Model and uphold the schools core values at all times
