A vacancy for an Assistant Headteacher has arisen within our Multi Academy Trust due, based at Osborne Primary School in Erdington. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practitioner to develop their leadership skills working collaboratively with the Headteacher and the leadership team in the leadership and day to day management of the school. The Assistant Headteacher will have a 0.6 class teaching commitment.
Osborne Primary School is a thriving two-form entry school based in the heart of Erdington. We are a school at the centre of a vibrant community who will put children at the heart of everything we do; offering them an amazing experience through a fun, stimulating curriculum.
Prior to joining our Trust Osborne was judged inadequate with OFSTED. Our journey to ensuring we are at least a good school at our next inspection is well underway, and we are very excited about the positive changes taking place in our school.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding leader with experience of curriculum leadership. You will have the drive, energy and ambition to inspire students and staff, to strive for continuous improvement and outstanding outcomes for all.
What you'll need to succeed
· To promote and embody the ‘One Trust vision’ so that it is always at the core of school/trust improvement work ensuring children are at the heart of everything you do
· Be an outstanding primary practitioner with the ability to lead a phase
· Demonstrate a deep understanding of child protection and safeguarding and show evidence of successfully managing concerns and allegations
· Be an effective communicator, both internally with staff and pupils and with parents/carers, and the wider community
· Be committed to working with other senior leaders across the Trust
· Have experience of dealing with challenges and getting the very best outcomes
· Have knowledge and understanding of curriculum, the ability to build on the current curriculum offer providing broad and balanced opportunities in conjunction with leading on personal development to support the development of the whole child
· Be able to lead staff development through the use of instructional coaching
