About the School 

William Ellis School is a thriving, voluntary aided, non-denominational, inclusive comprehensive boys’ school serving the educational needs of boys from the ages of 11 to 18. It is an attractive site on the edge of Hampstead Heath with excellent access to Central London. It is a neighbourhood of great social and cultural diversity, and this diversity is very well represented at William Ellis.  

 

The school is committed to nurturing successful students and good citizens through strong relationships in line with the school motto, “rather use than fame”. The school is part of the longest established and most successful mixed sixth form consortium in London, LaSWAP, which enables our students to access a wide range of subject expertise. About the role 

We are currently looking for an Assistant Headteacher who can bring commitment and expertise to our curriculum offer, supporting and teaching students across all key stages.  

 

Applications are invited from inspiring, dynamic and committed teacher and leaders who wish to develop their career in a school which places high quality teaching and learning as its highest priority. The post would suite wither an experienced senior leader or someone new to a post at this level. 

 

You would be joining our established and highly motivated Senior Leadership Team who are passionate about the school and its students and families. All are experienced and expert leaders who are ambitious for the school to continue to grow and improve. There is a highly collegiate staff body and a supportive, developmental relationship with neighbouring schools. 

Exact responsibilities will be decided on appointment but would include aspects of teaching and learning in line with our School Development Plan, available on our website. 

 

The successful candidate will be: 

·        An ambitious and visionary leader, committed to education in an inclusive and diverse setting

·        An expert an inspirational classroom practitioner who is able to systematically develop this practice in others

·        Committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of background and starting points, make excellent progress in all aspects of their learning – both academic study and personal development

·        A reflective leader with excellent interpersonal skills and resilience who can work effectively with and through others at all levels

·        Able to analyse data and use it to drive school improvement and self-evaluation
