Temporary position for 1 year or 2 terms as preferred by the successful candidate. Covering maternity leave.

We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher to teach our well behaved, charming and high achieving Year 6 class. You will also hold responsibility for maths and areas of school improvement.

We need an Assistant Headteacher who is:

  • creative and enthusiastic
  • committed to raising standards and continuing school improvement
  • highly organised and efficient
  • an accomplished teacher

About Sheringdale Primary School

Sheringdale, a community state school, is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational primary situated in Southfields, south-west London. The school will provide 352 places for pupils aged 3-11 when fully subscribed.

The school sees itself as being at the heart of the local community, and actively encourages the participation of its governors, each of whom has been linked to a different subject area. Sheringdale has recently completed some building work, with the new classrooms and extra outdoor space benefiting the younger students in particular.

The school’s primary vision is “Learn, Create, Grow Together”. School rules focus on kindness, helpfulness, respect, hard work, honesty and listening. Sheringdale encourages children to be outdoor learners as well as keen academic performers. A team of staff, governors and families give the school everything it needs to create an atmosphere of creativity, care and high educational standards.

Extracurricular activities take place every day of the week, and include music clubs for pupils learning piano or recorder, as well as netball and cricket/multi-sports clubs.
