Notre Dame School has an exciting opportunity. We are seeking to appoint a forward thinking, highly motivated Assistant Headteacher, Curriculum to our Senior Leadership Team from September 2022.


Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Strategic direction of the curriculum with overall responsibility for curriculum development and data analysis of the Senior School

• Timetabling: To regularly review the timetable and curriculum, and to draft suggested improvements in consultation with Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department and Heads of Year.

• Academic Progress and Data Analysis: To provide on-going support for Heads of Year and Heads of department on how to generate and effectively use data to raise academic progress using SIMS.

• To lead the HoYs and HoDs in promoting high levels of academic achievement by all students.

• To work collaboratively with the head teacher and leadership team to implement School Development Plan

• To role model best practice as an excellent teacher, sharing this across the school.


The person:

• You will be a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced teacher, who will encourage pupils to strive for the very highest standards, whilst building up their self-confidence.

• As an outstanding practitioner, you will model excellent pedagogy and be up to date with educational research.

• You will have an extensive understanding of tracking, data analysis and timetabling.

• You will have experience of effective team building and also of supporting the wellbeing of staff, as well as having experience of leading change at least at department level.

• They will have outstanding written communication skills, high level of competence with IT especially excel, SIMS and timetabling software, and a high level of mathematical competency.

• The successful candidate will teach a reduced timetable.


Job requirements:

• Qualified teacher status

• Good degree in any subject

• Experience of leading a pastoral and/or academic team

• Experience of outstanding teaching at Key Stages 3 – 5
