Equitas Academies Trust was formed in September 2012 and incorporates Aston Manor Academy (Secondary) and Chilwell Croft Academy (Primary). Both Academies are happy, exciting and inspiring learning environments for their children who are from a vibrant mix of cultures. The staff and Trustees have a great sense of pride in their schools and care passionately about the pupils they serve.

Chilwell Croft Academy is a rapidly improving Primary School with committed, enthusiastic staff and very supportive parents. The Academy has been on an extremely rewarding journey over the last 12 months having recently gained our best ever key stage 2 results. Now being in line with the national average, we hope to achieve at least ‘good’ in our next inspection. Our Academy leaders and staff place a strong emphasis on positive attitudes, high quality learning, and a strong team approach. Consequently, the school has made very strong progress and is a happy and harmonious community where pupils from different ethnic heritages work together well and feel safe.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher who is passionate about SEN. The successful candidate will need to be motivated, innovative, flexible and have a proven track record of working with children with a wide range of needs. They will have a passion for developing and extending potential in both our pupils and staff team by recognising and nurturing individual qualities and strengths, thus driving Chilwell Croft Academy forward to become an outstanding Academy of the future.

The successful candidate should have:

· The ability to demonstrate outstanding teaching and an excellent record of classroom practice

· The skill of working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs

· Creativity and vision to inspire and lead change ensuring successful outcomes for pupils

· The ability to lead staff and develop their knowledge and expertise of working with SEND children

· The ability to work effectively within the SLT team to achieve excellence

· The ability to support and have an overview of the teaching assistants working with SEN pupils and to be responsible for their training needs

· Excellent communication, management and organisational skills

· Experience of working in partnership with parents, professionals, governors, the wider community, and leadership and management of a pastoral team

A background of working as a SENCO is not essential as training will be provided for exceptional candidates.

Informal visits to the Academy are most welcome. Arrangements can be made through Joanne Kyte, Headteachers PA, on 0121 464 3322.

All Different, All Equal, All Achieving

Chilwell Croft Academy is a very happy and improving school for children aged four to eleven.  The school currently has children on roll representing over 30 nationalities, speaking 40 different languages.     We are proud to be part of a multicultural community, and actively celebrate the diversity of our school.

Our aim is to provide an environment where children can make progress academically and develop personally. Everything we do is focused on this.

We spend a lot of time and effort developing the culture of our school. The physical environment is welcoming and orderly – our artist in residence works with children to show off their art skills and this is exhibited throughout the school. Our pupils learn to behave, have a good attitude to learning and respect each other. Every pupil has a planner and is a member of a house team in order to help them do this. Pupils take pride in their work as evidenced by the presentation in their books. They value our rewards system and say they feel safe in school.

Developing the highest quality teaching lies at the heart of our school improvement agenda. We celebrate success and share good practice whenever we can.     We are very proud of our pupils and their families. Here, every child is truly valued for his or her contribution and encouraged to grow in confidence. A real strength of our school are the very positive relationships between staff and pupils and within peer groups.

You are more than welcome to come and visit us at any time, arrangements can be made by contacting the school on 0121 464 3402
