The Governors of Ashlyns School are seeking to recruit an outstanding and ambitious Assistant Headteacher, who will work closely with the Headteacher in all aspects of the operation of the school. The successful candidate will lead, manage and develop key strategic areas as part of this role. Securing the right person with the motivation and leadership expertise is our paramount objective. As such, there is flexibility in determining the specific responsibilities in order to tailor the post to the successful candidate’s strengths. However, these may include:
- Student progress, standards and effectiveness
- Teaching, learning and assessment
- Behaviour, safety and welfare
- Leadership and the development of others

Ashlyns is a popular and oversubscribed school. We became a full secondary school in September 2013 following the re-organisation of the education provision in Berkhamsted, and now have over 1,200 students. The school has undergone significant refurbishment in recent years with continuing improvements in progress as we prepare to expand to eight forms of entry in September 2017. This is an exciting time to join our school and make your impression as we continue to develop and build on our success.
