An excellent opportunity has come up at our school in Solihull that caters for, educates and nurtures children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

This is a challenging and important post requiring a teacher / leader of the highest calibre. The successful candidate must have the ability to support and work with the Headteacher and SLT in all aspects of school improvement and have a key responsibility to sustain and develop our Inclusive Ethos.

The successful candidate will have:

• Relevant experience of successful leadership at a whole school level.

• Involvement in school development and evaluation

• Taken a lead on inclusion or curriculum initiatives that have contributed to raising educational standards

• Promoted, organised and led staff training and development within the specified area/s

• Knowledge and experience of Special Educational Needs and effective learning for children with barriers to learning

• A clear understanding about school improvement issues

• The ability to determine priorities and manage time effectively

• Knowledge of and potential to build positive and effective programmes for staff development in particular developing coaching and mentoring

Candidates should also:

• Play a lead role in the day to day management of the school. 

• This role is both operational and strategic however much of the school day will be spent with the pupils.

• Display excellent leadership and inter-personal skills with children and with adults.

• Have an ability to work both as a member of a supportive team and alone

• Be highly organised and demonstrate strong management skills.

• Be committed to making a difference to the future of our pupils.

• Have extensive experience of delivering exceptional teaching.
