Furze Infant School is a vibrant, five-form entry primary school located in Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Furze-Warren Hard Federation. We aim to provide the best opportunities for teaching and learning which will inspire, motivate and engage all children. At Furze Infants we aim to deliver a curriculum that is exciting, forward thinking, inclusive and practical.

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspiring, dynamic talented Senior Leader, to take on the role of Assistant Headteacher with main responsibility for Inclusion including being the SENDCo and another subject area (to be decided at interview). We are looking for an innovative, inspirational Assistant Headteacher who will put children's learning at the centre of everything they do and are able to support our pupils and staff in reaching their full potential. We are looking for a leader who is able to coach others across the school to achieve the very best standards for our pupils.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to work alongside our Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team to continue to raise quality and standards, ensuring that all pupils reach their full potential. The role will involve some class teaching and dedicated leadership time. This post is non-class based.  At Furze, we offer excellent CPD opportunities to further your skills

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an inspirational and enthusiastic team leader with sound knowledge and experience of SEND.
  • Innovative and highly ambitious to improve SEND provision and whole school teaching & learning.
  • A motivated leader who can inspire staff to develop their practice, improve standards and embrace change.
  • Is currently an excellent classroom practitioner who can be a role model for others with a deep knowledge of the curriculum.
  • Provide knowledge and understanding in the SEN code of conduct and EHCP process.
  • Have vision, passion and a proven record in school improvement.
