Job overview

Halewood CofE Primary School are looking to appoint an ambitious and passionate Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team. This is a wonderful career development opportunity which has arisen at an exciting time in the journey of our school. Our Christian vision is Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). This shapes every decision we take as a school. Our Christian values permeate across school and shape how we behave towards one another: friendship, forgiveness, hope, thankfulness, perseverance, and responsibility.

Halewood CE Primary School is proud to be part of the Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust - a multi-academy trust of 18 schools from across the Liverpool Diocese. Our Trust is inclusive and values-driven and all schools within it benefit from working collaboratively and sharing a vision of providing an excellent education, built on distinctly Christian values.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact the school office on 0151 487 5673 or email karen.sefton@ldst.org.uk to make an appointment.

Visits will take place on:

Monday 22nd April – 1.30pm, Tuesday 23rd April – 3.30pm, Wednesday 24th April – 10am

Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment to keeping children safe. Any offer of employment will be subject to statutory pre-employment checks including satisfactory references, online checks, Enhanced DBS, and Barred List checks. This post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended in 2013 & 2020) and shortlisted candidates will be required to disclose any relevant criminal history prior to interview.

We are a fully inclusive organisation and encourage applications from individuals from minority communities.

At Halewood C of E Primary School we aim to provide the very best education for all the children within our care. We cater for children with ages ranging from 3 to 11 years. We believe that children achieve their best when they are joyful learners, and only through our recognising and nurturing their individual strengths and talents can a love of learning grow.

Our aim is to create "A Place of Joy and Learning". We believe in raising self esteem, expectation and striving to offer a curriculum which embraces the love of learning in and through a creative curriculum. We seek to create high expectations of all our children, and believe in an inclusive education that recognises diversity and takes account of different styles of learning.

We ensure a balance between independent, group and whole class teaching and provide equal learning opportunities for all the children, irrespective of ability, ethnic or cultural origin, gender or language. We believe that this approach opens up the world of education and enables our pupils to choose their own future.

We endeavour to create an open, friendly environment in which children can be secure, grow in confidence and be valued for who they are and what they can offer our school community. Let us ensure as we begin our partnership, that working together we can all achieve.
