Co-op Academy Woodlands is a large primary school situated in East Leeds and forms part of the 32 schools in the Co-op Academies Trust. Woodlands is an inspiring place to work and learn and as part of the Co-op Academies Trust, aim to secure excellence in all aspects of its work.  


We are currently seeking to appoint a talented and inspirational Assistant Headteacher. This is a key role within our Senior Leadership Team at Woodlands; a fantastic opportunity for someone with drive, enthusiasm and high aspirations to work in partnership with the Headteacher and other leaders to make a real difference to our Academy and young people. You will lead by example and inspire and develop others, building on our many successes and driving forward Academy improvement. 


With this in mind, we are seeking to appoint an ambitious and engaging Assistant Headteacher; someone who can help shape and deliver a shared vision for the future and who will take a lead in the next steps of embedding the Academy’s non-core subjects curriculum and support the SLT to develop and improve teaching and learning across the academy.  


You must be able to:

  • develop excellent provision for our wonderful pupils and their families
  • lead and develop our committed staff team
  • work effectively with governors, Trust colleagues and other partners
  • be highly motivated, enthusiastic, skilled and solution focused
  • have a good track record of raising standards and curriculum leadership
  • be committed to developing positive behaviour
  • be an exceptional leader and be able to get the best out of others
  • drive school improvement, relishing the challenge of creating our future
  • lead on maintaining excellent standards in the Quality of Education and welfare of all 
  • live the Co-op values

Woodlands Primary Academy is a large inner city primary school situated in inner East Leeds. We have had a successful OFSTED inspection in 2014 and are a rapidly developing school. We have a committed, hard-working and optimistic staff and fantastic, friendly and hardworking children. Our parents and wider community are very supportive of the school.
