Kender is a popular, expanding and caring school that serves children from the local New Cross area. We have a broad and exciting curriculum with strong cross-curricular links, supported by specialists in Art, PE and Music, which enthuses and engages our lovely children. We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher to join our collaborative and outstanding leadership team.

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Assistant Headteacher who has the ambition to work in a forward thinking, innovative and high performing school.

The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of five years’ teaching experience and proven experience of leading and managing a phase and will have an uncompromising passion for teaching; they will be relentless in securing the academic achievement and emotional well-being of every child and believe they can make an outstanding contribution to ensuring the best start for all of our pupils.

The post holder will have a track record of outstanding teaching in Key Stage 2. They will have the personal drive and motivation to play a central role in our ambitious school improvement work.

Would you like to have a role in:

  • Teaching and learning across the whole school
  • Development and delivery by teachers of the Kender Curriculum and developing economic enterprise links
  • Ensuring most able learners exceed expected progress
  • NQT mentor for a team of three and line manager for support staff and teachers from Ys3-6
  • Supporting the Y6 team and children at the end of KS2 SATs

If so, you could be the leader we are looking for – flexible enough to meet the needs of all learners and driven to ensure their success. You will be able to ensure the progress of our children, working collaboratively with other staff and bringing the commitment to really inspire our children and ensure best outcomes for them all.

Our school is a fully inclusive two form entry community primary school, catering for pupils between 3-11 years old which is part of the London Borough of Lewisham, and has places for 300 full time pupils and 50 Nursery pupils.

We believe that the primary years are an important time in your child’s life and are proud that our values and ethos permeate all aspects of our provision.
