Be part of our continuing journey to great things

The Trust Board, Governors, staff and students of St Paul’s Catholic High School, are seeking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Headteacher for our school, to work alongside our recently appointed Headteacher, to lead the school in the next phase of its journey to good and outstanding within the context of a Multi Academy Trust.

This position is ideally suited to an experienced Catholic Leader who is highly skilled and passionate about building on the progress already being made in a rapidly improving school that is currently judged to be requiring improvement. Our new Assistant Headteacher will have a proven record of self-development and of whole school leadership.

St Paul’s Catholic High School is a member of the Wythenshawe Catholic Academy Trust and a strategic partner in the Romero Teaching School Alliance based at All Hallows Catholic College in Macclesfield. These partnerships provide outstanding opportunities for teaching and leadership development and also provide a rich source of support with school improvement.

In our Assistant Headteacher we are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced leader with a track record of sustained delivery of outstanding achievement with a solid understanding of how to develop and implement strategies to achieve whole school improvement.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate all stakeholders to raise standards.
  • Is able to translate our vision into agreed objectives and operational plans that secure and sustain school improvement.
  • Has drive and enthusiasm combined with tenacity to make a visible positive change to our school community, ensuring that student potential becomes a reality.

In return we can offer:

  • An opportunity to join a Senior Team with a new Headteacher who is driven, ambitious and committed to excellence.
  • Exceptional facilities for learning, including state of the art facilities and a strong commitment to pedagogical reflection.
  • A school that has taken positive steps in response to being judged ‘Requires Improvement’ and which has the full support of Staff, Governors, the Trust and Diocesan Education Commission.

If you are highly ambitious and have the skills to support our Headteacher in leading our school in the next stage of its journey we would love to hear from you.

Application forms and an information pack are available from the School. Please contact Debbie Milne, HR Manager d.milne@st-paulshigh.net for a pack.

Completed applications should be returned by 12.00 noon on Monday 2 October 2017.

Values and Vision

St Paul's uses the mission statement "Journeying together with Jesus Christ, we learn to love and love to learn". It aims to educate the whole child, forming their character by teaching values and virtues as much as knowledge and skills. The school has strong links with a number of local schools, its fellow WCAT schools and the Manchester Catholic Education Partnership.
