We are seeking applications from highly motivated and ambitious professionals with a desire to work in a successful, thriving, supportive, happy, oversubscribed 11-18 standalone Academy.
We are situated centrally in Crowborough, on the outskirts of the Ashdown Forest - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close to Tunbridge Wells and the south coast, with easy access to central London. We have approximately 1,300 students including approximately 250 students in Year 12 and 13, based at our Sixth Form site.
Our body of staff and trustees work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high standards and expectations. These are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for our students and our highly-effective team of staff. The aforementioned enables our teachers to teach and students to learn in a school where leadership, management, safeguarding, behaviour and welfare are all recently judged as outstanding.
In 2017, we achieved our best ever A level and GCSE results which places Beacon Academy as the top performing school in Sussex and in the top 3% of schools nationally. In June 2017, we were one of only 65 schools nationwide to be awarded National Teaching School and National Support School status. This accolade enables us to take a leading role by providing high quality school-led teacher training, school to school support and professional development for teachers and support staff at all stages of their career. Our Headteacher, Anna Robinson is also a designated National Leader of Education and a Consultant Headteacher for East Sussex County Council.
We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher: Mathematics, Science and Engineering who will strive to make a substantial difference to the lives of our students, our school and the wider community. To be successful, you will be an experienced, dynamic, highly skilled, creative and inspirational leader who relishes the challenges of school improvement. You will demonstrate a proven track record of raising standards and be ready to play a significant role in our high achieving, non-selective and non-denominational school.
Visits are warmly welcomed to see our school in action on Monday, 16th or Tuesday, 17th April 2018 and experience for yourself why we are so proud of our school. Should you wish to do so, please email email@example.com
Closing date: 10am on Wednesday, 18th April 2018
Interview dates: Monday, 23rd and Tuesday, 24th April 2018.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance and suitable references.
