About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2019, our Progress 8 score of +1.58 has been recognised as the 4th highest in the country by the Department for Education. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and over 50% of pupils leave us to go to Russell Group Universities to study a range of academic subjects. In September 2020, Wembley High also welcomed pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come. In addition, we were appointed as one of only 87 Teaching School Hubs in the country. We are responsible for the implementation of the Early Career Framework, delivering the NPQ programmes, Initial Teacher Training as well as offering high-quality evidence-based training across 3 London boroughs.

The Role

First and foremost, we are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner who has an excellent track record of improving academic standards and pupil outcomes. The role of an Assistant Headteacher is extremely varied and you will work alongside a team of exceptional leaders to support the school’s continued development. You must be willing to undergo intensive training to help you develop into an exceptional senior leader and the ideal candidate should be ready for deputy headship within 3 – 5 years. We are, in particular, looking for candidates who are maths specialist to continue the development of one of the highest performing maths departments in the country; in 2019, the DfE has recognised the maths progress score of +1.66 as the 4th highest in the country. More recently, in 2021, 66% of GCSEs were awarded grades 9 – 7 with an overall pass rate of 96%. At A Level, we offer both maths and further maths A Level which are both extremely popular and results are equally impressive; last year, 89% of A Level maths entries were awarded A* - B grades and 100% of A Level further maths entries were awarded A* - B grades.

Closing date for this role is Wednesday 27th October 2021 (3pm)

Interviews will be held on Friday 29th October 2021.
