Assistant Headteacher, Oxford
L9-13
Meadowbrook College provides full and part-time education and support to over 100 aged 5-16 students who are finding it difficult to access their mainstream schools. We offer our students another chance and provide a high quality, safe learning environment in which to develop positive behaviours and skills which can be used to improve their life chances. We work hard to ensure our young people achieve the best outcomes they can by creating individual educational packages which meet their needs and equip them for their next destination. Our hope for our students is that they will re-engage with learning, be successful and achieve their goals. Our aim is for every one of our students to move on to college, school, an apprenticeship or employment.
We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher, for our Oxford site, to join our team as our provision continues to expand. If you have a passion for finding solutions in the most challenging of circumstances and a clear commitment to supporting and developing the vision for our academy and academy trust, then we would love to hear from you.
What we are looking for:
This post will suit an individual who has experience in an Assistant Headteacher capacity and has ambitions to be a Deputy Headteacher/Head of School. Working with the Headteacher, the successful applicant will have direct impact on realising the vision of the academy/academy trust and leading and managing a talented and committed primary/secondary team.
You must be capable of providing inspirational leadership, be creative, an outstanding classroom practitioner and have an innovative and flexible approach to finding solutions which will enable young people on the site to be safe, respectful and ready to learn on a daily basis. You will be committed to the highest achievement for all and be a resourceful and enthusiastic member of the senior team. You will have a trauma informed approach to managing a child’s provision; be a restorative practitioner; and use nurture principles to inform your, and others’, daily practice.
Why work at Meadowbrook College?
Meadowbrook College staff are both professional and resilient. There is a “can do” attitude that makes a real difference to the lives of our students; many of whom have become disengaged with education and lost the confidence to achieve their full potential
We offer a variety of opportunities for ongoing professional development for all staff
We are working in an ever-changing and expanding educational climate where the need for alternative provision solutions is ever-increasing. We are responding to this demand in a variety of exciting ways and there are many future opportunities for career progression at all levels.
