The Bishop of Winchester Academy is seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join the Leadership Team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and embedding the behaviour and pastoral curriculum, building upon our school mantra of ‘high expectations – no excuses’. They will be fully committed to and invested in the progress and wellbeing of our students as they prepare for life beyond the academy.

The successful candidate will:

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
