Job Title: Student support and Transition Lead

Marshfields School is an oversubscribed and successful 11-18 Special School, for students with moderate learning difficulties. Our students are well motivated and eager to learn. Personal Development plays a fundamental role in the Marshfields curriculum, at all key stages. The successful candidate will be working as a member of an innovative and experienced teaching team.

The Governors, Staff and children are seeking to appoint an inspirational and innovative Assistant Headteacher, who has experience of working with SEND students and is committed to ensuring all children meet their full potential.

This is an opportunity for an existing experienced middle or senior leader who is versatile, able to work with a high degree of independence and is passionate about the personal development, behaviour, welfare and learning of students. The key focus of this role is to work cooperatively with the Deputy Headteachers, to assist in the leadership and management of the reporting, transition, SEND administration and intervention processes. The role demands responsibility for whole school issues; liaising with the data lead to ensure upto date, relevant and appropriate data is used in the reporting cycle and EHCPs.

The successful applicant will provide effective / rigorous monitoring and feedback to the governors, the Headteacher, the senior / extended leadership team, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students and agencies, as appropriate. It is desirable for the applicant to be a designated safeguarding officer as well as having the SENDCo qualification.

If this opportunity interests you and you feel that you have the skills and experience to make a difference to the lives of the children who attend Marshfields School, we would be pleased to hear from you. For an informal discussion about this post, or to arrange a school visit please contact Shelley Taylor, Deputy Headteacher.

Marshfields School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS disclosure.
