Wingfield Academy working in partnership with New Collaborative Learning Trust is seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher who will be based at Wingfield Academy, with responsibility for English and literacy standards across the secondary arm of the Trust as it develops. This is a unique opportunity to impact on student outcomes, not only within Wingfield Academy in the first instance, but to co-ordinate and lead improvement across Trust secondary academies when they develop. The role will be underpinned by a passion to take a key role in developing literacy and reading as well as playing a significant role within the development of learning and teaching at Wingfield Academy.   

The successful candidate will be experienced and will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of raising standards in English for the last 3 years. The successful candidate must be an excellent practitioner, able to lead by example, inspire others and have the experience of leading a team of people.

This is an exceptional opportunity and will support the aim of the Academy to develop its secondary school improvement offer.  Wingfield Academy, where the role will be based, has delivered the third consecutive year of remarkable examination results, placing it once again as the second highest performing school in Rotherham and in the top 7% nationally for progress. The academy is growing in popularity following its success and is looking to expand and develop, attracting the best people to work alongside the already committed staff to continue their journey towards outstanding. It is anticipated that Wingfield Academy will be the first secondary school to join the highly successful post 16 MAT, New Collaborative Learning Trust at Easter 2020, and in doing so will lead the development of the secondary arm.
