Following the review of the curriculum model and the roles of the members of the Leadership Team, governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dedicated and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to play a strategic role in the leadership and management of the following role: ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER SECONDARY DEPARTMENT

‘SCHOOL LIFE ‘ (Academic)

  • Focus on the responsibility within and accountability for, whole school development and self evaluation within the area of School Life (Academic) aspect of the curriculum model
  • Linked to the Teaching, Learning and Assessment in the Ofsted Framework
  • In partnership with the Curriculum Deputy Headteacher to lead on the evaluation of the quality of teaching and its impact on student progress by considering a range of evidence to include work scrutiny, data analysis and lesson observations

Governors are seeking to recruit a person who will:

  • Have extensive experience and skill in working with students with a wide range of special educational needs and be passionate in ensuring all our young people achieve their personal best and full potential within a secondary department
  • Be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and be able to lead outstanding teaching and learning and demonstrate student progress across the secondary department
  • Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership and management skills
  • Be able to demonstrate how their work has a significant impact on the whole school as part of a senior leadership team
  • Have a strong commitment to innovative curriculum development including vocational training, enterprise and Internship programmes, student learning and staff development
  • Have excellent leadership skills and be able to hold people to account
  • Have the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and other key agencies such as further education, business and commerce
