Assistant Headteacher: SENCO and Disadvantaged Provision Lead
from September 2019
Pay range L8 – L12, actual salary £47,501 - £52,414 (pay award pending)
Laurence Jackson School is embarking on the next stage of its development and is looking for an ambitious and skilled leader to join the Senior Leadership Team. Although recently graded as ‘inadequate’, Laurence Jackson School is already demonstrating the capacity to improve and this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to play a significant part in that improvement.
Our recent Ofsted report recognises that ‘Since the appointment of the new Headteacher, the actions necessary to make the required improvements have been accurately identified’ and the school is beginning to move in the right direction to deliver the improvements that are needed.
A key part of this role will be working as part of a teaching and learning team to quality assure and develop the classroom practice of teaching staff and Learning Support Assistants to ensure that classroom provision meets the needs of all students; whatever their barriers.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Application forms and further details are available on the school’s website. To arrange a visit please contact Mrs D Anderson, PA to the Headteacher - 01287-636361 - firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications should be emailed to email@example.com.
Closing date for applications is noon on Wednesday 22 May 2019.
Interviews will take place Thursday 23 May and Friday 24 May.
