Within the Leadership Team there are four Assistant Headteachers with strategic leadership of a key area of school. These are Teaching, Learning and Assessment, Behaviour and Attitudes, and Personal Development. The post is advertised as an Assistant Headteacher and SENCo, we are seeking to appoint the best possible candidate who will have the greatest impact on transforming our school.

We are looking for the individual who has the following attributes, skills and knowledge:

  • Supportive of our ethos and who will enhance the Academy’s Catholic life.
  • A strong record of successful school improvement in a SENCo (assistant/deputy/leader) capacity with the ability to demonstrate clear impact.
  • Ability to lead the Academy so that all pupils maximise their potential.
  • Can lead SEND and Inclusion effectively to contribute to the rapid school improvement journey that is necessary.
  • Ability to command the respect and confidence of pupils, staff, parents.

Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children. Disclosure of any criminal convictions and an enhanced DBS check will be required for this post. It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. The post may not be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’ and are not subject to disclosure. It is important that an applicant provides the School with upfront disclosure of all unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings. A failure to declare the above (that are not subject to the Disclosure and Barring Service filtering) may disqualify an applicant for appointment and may result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light subsequently.
