The Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding Assistant Headteacher who will take on the leadership and management of this busy, thriving Learning Support Department. The school has an exceptionally large number of students with EHCP’s with very diverse needs.

You should:

  • be committed to the highest standards of Teaching & Learning
  • passionate about ensuring students with SEN reach their full potential
  • have experience of using students centred reviews
  • have excellent interpersonal skills
  • be a highly effective team motivator and manager
  • have a good knowledge of SEN Code of Practice and an understanding of the implications for schools
  • hold the SENCO qualification or be prepared to work towards it
  • have excellent communication skills
  • be an enthusiastic and committed teacher
  • be committed to ensuring appropriate inclusion opportunities are available for all students

We are looking to recruit a new Assistant Headteacher and SENCO to join the Senior Leadership Team at Orleans Park. The Learning Support Department is very popular with parents and students alike. First and foremost we are looking for a dynamic and confident person who has the passion, energy and skill to make a difference. We are particularly interested in hearing from excellent leaders and teachers who can demonstrate impact on the practice of others and who are interested in developing the skills necessary to become an effective SENCO.

An inspection of SEN provision stated, “The school has strong and explicit values around inclusion, including a commitment to including vulnerable groups and striving for excellence in provision”.
