St Philip’s School is a special educational needs school for young people aged 9 -19 years. All our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Many students have additional needs such as mild to moderate Autistic Spectrum Disorders, language impairment or emotional issues; a few have sensory or medical needs. We are seeking an ambitious, and inspirational leader to provide the professional leadership for each Key Stage Leader to secure high quality teaching and learning and provide a curriculum that secures progress for each learner.

You will have an excellent track record of teaching pupils or young people who have moderate to severe learning difficulties and ASD or other complex needs.  You will have proven ability to demonstrate and lead outstanding classroom practice, including innovative curriculum development, successfully implementing school improvement and impactful change. 

You will need to be able to:

• use assessment effectively to inform pupils progress and to analyse data to help the target setting process;

• evidence successful inter-agency and multi-agency partnership working, including with patents/carers;

• evidence successful joint strategic leadership as well as experience in developing initiatives and managing substantial operational change;

• have a full understanding of processes involving children in care, child protection and safeguarding and be committed to working in partnership;

• be collegiate, responsive, highly approachable and have the ability to inspire colleagues, pupils, students and their families.
