The Role

We are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Headteacher from September 2022. The post holder will be responsible for the Curriculum across the school. 


As a member of SLT, the Assistant Headteacher will play an important role in the overall leadership and management of the school. In particular, you will work closely alongside the Headteacher to lead and develop an outstanding, inclusive, comprehensive curriculum that serves the students.

The successful candidate will hold whole school responsibility for: 


● Leadership Development of students: development of student ambassadors across wider elements of the school.  

● Safeguarding Lead: working with Deputy Headteacher and pastoral leaders to ensure that a consistent policy is applied by all staff. 

● Transition days: planning and coordination of incoming Year 6 pupils and supporting the development of Year 5 and Year 6 taster days 

● PSHCE: strategic lead on the personal development policy, ensuring it fits in line with the Sikh Faith School and British values. 

● Student voice: planning and reporting of student council views, ensuring student voice is heard and acted upon, where appropriate.  

● Enrichment: creating an enrichment timetable that provides students with unique opportunities for all. 

● Super learning days: support the Deputy with creating valuable learning experiences for students across all stages to aid the development of pupils, whilst promoting Sikh Faith School and British Values.

● Charities and Enterprise: creating opportunities for all students to give back to the community. 

● Educational visits coordinator: development of a clear, easy to follow policy that supports the planning and coordination of all school trips. 

● Raising Standard Leader: raising attainment for students, monitoring the progress and attainment of pupils. 

● Teaching and Learning Coaching: support the development of Teaching and Learning throughout the school.

● Policies related to role and responsibility.
