We are seeking an inspirational and driven Assistant Headteacher to join the leadership team at Merstham Park School, from September 2025.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the learning experience across the school, ensuring high-quality leadership that supports all pupils to thrive.

We are looking for an ambitious leader who can demonstrate whole-school impact and has a strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion.
The precise responsibilities of the role will be discussed with the successful candidate and may include:
- Supporting the development of staff in their teaching and learning
- Driving and embedding teaching and learning improvements across the school
- Supporting and leading on the development of the whole school curriculum offer, including GCSE options
- Ensuring the very best outcomes for students in key stage 4, raising standards in the upper school
- Manage and lead the upper school (years 10 and 11), supporting students to achieve

- A highly experienced middle leader or currently working as an Assistant Headteacher.
- An effective and highly visible team leader.
- You will lead by example, be forward thinking and set ambitious targets for both yourself and those in your team.
- An ability to influence, inspire and motivate a wider team is an essential part of the role.
- You need to demonstrate the expertise to continually drive the school forward.
- You will have significant experience of leading a team, most likely gained as a Head of subject, Head of Year or as an existing Assistant Head.
- You will have the skills, knowledge and attributes to deal with and effectively manage a varied role.
