Job overview

Denton Community College is looking for an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to support in effective leadership and management for the school.

This is a new role that has come about following a restructure of the current Senior Leadership Team in response to an incease in student numbers.

The successful candidate will help:

  • Provide a curriculum and classroom experience which will inspire all our students to become lifelong learners.
  • Strengthen our community by building confidence in the young people of Denton so they aspire to achieve.
  • Ensure inclusive practice breaks down barriers to learning, removes excuses and allows students to perform to the best of their ability.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Evidence effective leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically.
  • Evidence leading and managing change within an organisation.
  • Evidence a strong record of raising achievement.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrate experience of positively impacting on and shaping the attitudes of stakeholders.
  • Evidence impact of embedding and developing organisational ethos.

About Denton Community College

Located in the town of Denton, Greater Manchester, Denton Community College is a co-educational secondary school with places for around 1,350 pupils aged 11-16. It was founded in 2010 after the merger of two local schools, Egerton Park Arts College and Two Trees Sports College.

In 2012, having previously been spread across two sites, the school opened a brand-new purpose-built site.
