Assistant Lead of Mathematics

Appleton Academy is an all through learning environment for pupils from nursery through to secondary.  Our building provides a wonderful environment for lifelong learning, in South Bradford.

Although mathematics is a subject area still requiring significant improvement in progress and outcomes, it is an  increasingly exciting and dynamic department. This post would be ideal for a candidate who has a real passion for mathematics teaching.  We are looking to appoint a Secondary Assistant Leader of Mathematics with specific responsibility for developing a quality of education that ensures positive pupil outcomes.  An enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate Assistant Leader of Maths who shows the potential to be outstanding, to work across the academy.  Someone with a commitment to excellence and the desire to develop their career, where there is a real opportunity to inspire our students. 

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of the secondary Maths curriculum. Experience of having led, or significantly contributed to the success of a school through leadership, ethos, teaching and results and evidence as a highly effective secondary age classroom practitioner

The successful applicant will:

· Have qualified teacher status

· Have an Upper honours degree in a Maths related subject

· Possess the ability to lead, coach and motivate staff

· Be capable of leading Maths in the secondary phase of the Academy
