This vibrant newly combined Learning Area seeks to provide a rich experience for learners wanting to pursue courses leading into the Creative Arts and Humanities Industries. Encompassing approximately 300 vocational full-time students and 700 ‘A’ level students, this is a high performing area with particular standards of excellence recognised within the A level provision and our highly sought after Performing Arts courses which enjoy an unrivalled reputation across the sector, enhanced by collaborative projects involving renowned practitioners. At present the curriculum ranges from Level 1 – Level 6, with exciting opportunities for further development of our HE provision as well as developing skills and talent to service growth and investment plans for the fast moving Creative Industries sector. The curriculum is delivered in 2 of our campuses by a highly passionate and dedicated staff of 60.
Working closely with the Learning Area Manager, you will assist with the planning and management of the Learning Area to include curriculum, quality, budgeting, staff and learner management, the Assistant Learning Area Manager will support the Learning Area Manager in leading staff to ensure the highest standards of quality are embedded within the provision with a clear focus on raising standards and responding to learner needs.
Holding a degree or equivalent in a related discipline and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent), you will ideally possess a Post Graduate/Higher degree in Leadership and Management or be willing to work towards one.
With knowledge of current issues facing FE Colleges, you will have an understanding of FE funding methodologies including HE, WBL, 14-16 and experience of developing curriculum to enhance progression and employability prospects e.g. essential skills.
We are looking for candidates who can bring innovation, energy and a can-do attitude, supported by an in-depth knowledge of a relevant sector and understanding of the skills needs, as well as relevant industry contacts.

Gower College Swansea (Coleg Gwyr Abertawe) is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in West Glamorgan, Wales. The college, situated in Swansea has over 7,000 students studying there every year.
Gower College Swansea was established in 2010 after the merge of Gorseinon College and Swansea College. The college has campuses in Tycoch and Gorseinon, along with smaller learning centres at Gorseinon Centre, Broadway, Kingsway, Llwyn Y Bryn, Sketty Hall and Sandringham Park.
